Inclusive. Nurturing. Stimulating. That’s how we describe our school, which has received the prestigious Marjorie Boxall Quality Mark Award and in 2019 was judged as Good in all areas by Ofsted.

We draw out every child’s unique talents and abilities, develop their love of learning and encourage them to reach their full potential.

But we don’t work alone. Parents and carers are our partners, and we work closely with you to achieve the best for your child.

Experience life at The Baird Primary Academy through our showreel

Our day-to-day lessons cover the building blocks of education: reading, phonics, spelling, writing and maths.

Through creative teaching techniques, personalised learning and plenty of practical experience around the school grounds and local area, we motivate our pupils to become independent and collaborative learners. We focus on building skills and giving children a deep knowledge that develops a lifelong love of learning.

We believe in high expectations. We want our pupils to know their own potential and strive to reach it. So, when they leave us, they are ready for the next stage of learning and life in our ever-changing world.

How do we do it? We help children to develop self-belief, resilience, motivation and independence - essential skills that they will take with them through life.

We celebrate individual achievements and take pride in everyone’s successes.

Children learn best when there are close links between their home and school. Parents and carers: we need you.

We want you to be actively engaged in what your child is learning and to come and join us in the classroom when we celebrate their achievements.

As a school, we value respect and tolerance and pride ourselves on creating a safe and inclusive environment where all our children can excel.

We are part of the University of Brighton Academies Trust. A family of 15 infant, primary and secondary schools in Sussex, all graded as Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.

Excellence, innovation and integrity are the values that guide us. We support each other, sharing insights and best practice so we never stop improving.  Our mission is to deliver the best possible education for your child.

Being part of the Trust links us to the University of Brighton: a trusted education provider. We work closely with the University’s School of Education which Ofsted has judged as Outstanding for its teacher training programmes.
