School Direct is a year-long postgraduate teacher training programme offered in partnership with the University of Brighton, rated by Ofsted as an outstanding teacher training provider.

This school-led programme provides valuable teaching experience alongside personalised support from highly-experienced academy teachers and university tutors. It is offered at the Trust’s academies in Hastings, St Leonards and Burgess Hill; including The Baird Primary Academy.

Primary and secondary focused places are available; with secondary places covering a broad range of subjects from Art and Design to Physics.

Trainees graduate with a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) and qualified teacher status (QTS).

Paul Degg, Director of Teacher Recruitment, University of Brighton Academies Trust said: “We are committed to making a difference to the education of children in Sussex. To do that, we need outstanding teachers. I encourage anyone interested to contact me to find out more about the opportunities available in our academies and the role you could play in helping us achieve excellence for all our pupils.”

Interested individuals can meet representatives from the Trust and our academies at  forthcoming events .
